Roger Hayward, President & Project Manager
Roger graduated from MIT with a BS in Aerospace Engineering before going on to fly Hornets in the USMC. Following this Roger worked on a PhD Thesis at Stanford “GPS for Attitude Determination in General Aviation Aircraft. He dropped out of the Stanford PhD program after his masters to Start GyroSat which commercialized his thesis invention. This was sold to Seagull Technology and then to Garmin where it is now in the Garmin GA glass cockpit display system.
Following GyroSat Roger started Sportbug which used GPS for measuring athletes performance. This company evolved into Traxsis which developed one of the first high sensitivity GPS cell phone add on’s. This was one of the first devices that supported audio turn by turn directions over the cell phone. As a result of this product Axiom Navigation purchased Traxsis to add to its Fleet Management product line.
After leaving Axiom, Roger and the Traxsis/SportBug development team, started Geotrax which developed a GPS tracking product used to recover stolen currency from bank robbers. Geotrax commercialized the product and had its first arrest with in 12 months. It subsequently deployed over 10,000 tracker units resulting in 100s of arrests before being acquired by its biggest customer 3SI Security.
