Fernando Saldain, Director of Operations
Fernando graduated first in his class, from CET-MAR in Ensenada Mexico and obtained an associates degree in marine electronics, with a major in radio navigation. Following this Fernando joined Lowrance Electronics, an OEM of consumer recreational GPS/SONAR equipment. At Lowrance Fernando worked as group lead in various repair areas, across product lines and production areas, where he developed repair manuals for junior technicians.
Fernando joined Axiom Navigation, an OEM of Fleet Management Tracking Systems, as engineering technician in charge of debugging prototype designs. He was initially responsible for developing test fixtures for production test automation, but was rapidly promoted to a hardware design engineer. In this role Fernando did circuit design and pcb layout of several GPS based Fleet tracking systems working with CDMA, Microburst, and GSM radios.
After Axiom Fernando joined Geotrax where he was instrumental in developing a GPS tracking product used to recover stolen currency from bank robbers. As a direct result of Fernando’s design and prototyping skills the product was in production and had its first arrest with in 12 months. While at Geotrax Fernando founded ERAM a low cost manufacturing facility in Ensenada Mexico that allowed Geotrax to rapidly prototype products and manufacture smaller quantities of other tracking products.
After 3SI Security, GeoTrax’s biggest customer, acquired GeoTrax Fernando continued as an employee and then as a consultant for 3SI Security. His duties at 3SI Security included continued design work as well as managing the contract manufacturers responsible for 3SI’s cash tracking product. While working for 3SI Security Fernando continued to operate ERAM doing prototype and small quantity production runs for 3SI.
